It is the third annual publication by Future Earth and The Earth League, two major international organizations representing networks of global sustainability scientists. This summary was produced for the United Nations Climate Action Summit, September 2019, to inform national leaders and policymakers participating in the Summit.<\/p>\n<p>Our insights are featured in a<a href=\"https:\/\/futureearth.org\/2019\/09\/22\/landmark-united-in-science-report-informs-climate-action-summit\/\"> landmark new report for UN Climate Action Summit 2019<\/a>. The report, United in Science, includes details on the state of the climate and presents trends in the emissions and atmospheric concentrations of main greenhouse gases. It highlights the urgency of fundamental socio-economic transformation in key sectors such as land use and energy in order to avert dangerous global temperature increase with potentially irreversible impacts.
