Nominees should be engaged researchers or knowledge users working on any area of climate change and biodiversity research ranging from earth observation, social sciences, nature based solutions to policy design and others.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Experts with a broad outlook from Future Earth\u2019s Global Research Networks and beyond are encouraged to submit their nominations by 18 April 2023. Self-nominations are welcomed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>About the Call for Editorial Board Members<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This call pertains to completing a synthesis report for the European Commission by December 2023 that identifies the current knowledge gaps and research priorities in climate change and biodiversity science from a systems thinking perspective, considering societal aspects, and what can be done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The aim is to provide the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation recommendations on what thematic areas should be prioritized for prospective research and innovation interventions.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0This includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviewing inputs from an open call for topics<\/li>\n<li>Identifying emerging themes for stakeholder workshops<\/li>\n<li>Identify most important themes<\/li>\n<li>Oversee writing and editing process<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We are also looking into opportunities to publish this process in a peer-reviewed journal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nomination and appointment process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nominations should be made through this <a href=\"https:\/\/futureearth.org\/horizon-scanning-nomination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">form<\/a>. Nominees should have agreed to be nominated and understand the commitment.
