[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today, 7 September, is the <\/span>International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies<\/span><\/a>. Launched by the UN General Assembly in 2019, it champions the increasing interest in clean air and the need to improve air quality. More than 99% of people breathe unsafe air, and exposure can lead to stroke, heart and lung disease, cancer, and more, according to the United Nations Environment Programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

Future Earth\u2019s purpose is to identify and generate the integrated knowledge needed for successful transformations toward societies that provide good and fair lives for all within a stable and resilient Earth system. Access for all to clean air is a key component of fulfilling that purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n
